Proposal

For my proposal I am going to write about lowering the drinking age. I agree with lowering it for reasons of; if you are adult enough to have a job, go to war, or live on your own you are able to drink. Not only that but the brain development. Yes the average teenagers brain is not developed fully, but who says that EVERYONE over 21 is more developed? Although they may not have a more developed brain they are still able to drink at a bar or buy alcohol because they are over the age of 21. Also, many people say that teenagers are more likely to go out and drive after drinking. Statistics may show that more teenagers get caught, but I am sure there are way more older people drinking and driving home. How do they get their cars home from the bars when they are all trashed?

  1. Ashley,

    Topic Approved.

Be careful on trying to argue against brain development. It is scientifically proven that the human brain is not finished developing at the age of 18. This isn't a maturity or emotional development, it's biological. However, it would be worth looking into!
